Monday: Introduction to syllabus, classroom expectations, school policies and procedures, and materials.
Tuesday: Review literary terms and vocabulary. CIF-Write to Learn: Quick Write activity to answer the question, Why Am I Here?
Wednesday: Preview Unit 1: Early Beginnings 1800: Native American Life, European Explorers, and American Independence. Independent work: Write summary for Part I titled, European Contact
Thursday: Read short story, "I Have Killed the Deer" by Anonymous, classroom discussion of three worldviews. Activity: Collaborative Work Group to compare and contrast three worldviews.
Friday: Introduction of new students. Activity: Creating name tents, create novel folders, and fill in self bio sheet, My Selfie.
